Trump seeks donations to commissary account

In a major shift in focus in Trump’s 2024 campaign, supporters can now donate to Donald Trump’s federal prison commissary account, in preparation for an expected prison term.

A commissary in the context of a federal prison is a facility or store within the prison where inmates can purchase various goods and supplies. It operates similarly to a small convenience store, allowing inmates to buy items that are not provided by the prison, typically using funds from their inmate trust account.

Upon admission to the federal prison, inmates are often given the option to deposit money into an inmate trust account. This money can come from various sources, such as funds sent by family or friends, wages earned from prison work assignments, or other approved sources, including donations from MAGA supporters.

The commissary is usually stocked with a variety of items, including snacks, beverages, personal hygiene products, stationery, clothing, electronics (if allowed), and other basic necessities. Inmates can select items they wish to purchase and pay for them using the funds available in their inmate trust account.

Typically, the prison provides inmates with a commissary shopping list that outlines the available items and their respective prices. The list may be updated periodically.

Inmates often have a weekly spending limit to prevent excessive spending or hoarding of goods. The spending limits may vary depending on the prison’s rules and the inmate’s custody level.

It is believed Mr Trump’s legal team have also reached out to the Bureau of Prisons to have extra items added to the commissary list, including fake tan, to make Mr Trump’s terms of imprisonment more tolerable.
